FLINT, MI (WNEM) -

Crime stoppers is offering up to $2,500 for information leading to an arrest in a 1983 homicide.

Sheri Elliott, 16, was walking to her bus stop on Nov. 16, 1983 when she was abducted. It happened near W. Dartmouth and Clio Road in Flint.

Four days later her body was found in a ditch in Saginaw County's Blumfield Township.

She had been sexually assaulted and shot multiple times, Crime Stoppers said.

Her body was found by a muskrat trapper who said he checked his lines daily and her body was not there the day before. The medical records indicate Elliott was alive on Nov. 19. That means she was kept at an unknown location against her will, Crime Stoppers said.

If you have any information relating to this incident contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-422-5245.
