FLINT, MI (WNEM) -

A Mid-Michigan auto dealership’s license has been suspended by the Secretary of State’s Office.

Secretary of State Ruth Johnson announced the suspension of Promise Keeper Auto Sales LLC, 3615 N. Saginaw, Suite B, in Flint following an inspection of the dealership’s inventory and records.

Gerald Parker and Michele Parker are accused of not providing a record of vehicles bought and sold and other documents when requested.

Michigan Department of State investigators also asked to inspect the dealer’s records by written correspondence dated December 18, 2015.

The licensees are alleged to have not complied and then failed to appear for a preliminary conference scheduled for the matter on March 3.

“We take our responsibility to safeguard consumers from unscrupulous auto dealers seriously,” Johnson said. “Most auto dealers are reputable business people who follow the rules, but if we determine a dealer is operating outside the law, we will take action.”

Consumers who have a complaint against Promise Keeper Auto Sales are encouraged to call the Office of Investigative Services automotive complaint line at (517) 335-1410.
