Call it the pluck of the Irish.

People took part in the 36th annual St. Patrick's Day Pot O' Gold Run in downtown Flint.

The four-mile run and walk capped a series of events that began with a noon mass at St. Michael Catholic Church, and ended with an after-race party that raised money for local charities.

"We just love giving back to the community. Proceeds are going to the Crim, there's also beer proceeds going to veterans groups as well. So, it's all about community," said spokeswoman Ericha Thompson.

Thursday's event, as it has in the past, took place rain or shine – or snow.

Be sure to also tune into TV5’s coverage of the 62nd St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Bay City on March 20. TV5 will be participating in the parade.
