Potholes make for a bumpy ride on Diener Road in Saginaw County.

Our viewers reached out to the TV5 newsroom wanting us to ask the tough questions.

Residents said chuck holes make it impossible to go more than 10 mph. There’s even one so bad that it could damage a car if it hit it.

Crews from the county road commission responded quickly to complaints.

"We react to areas where they need us at this time and that's one of them," said Dennis Borchard.

Borchard is with the Saginaw County Road Commission.

Borchard said Diener Road was on the list to be addressed. He urges residents to contact the department with their complaints, that way his staff can take action.

The same afternoon our crews were filming, Borchard’s crews were making repairs to the road.

"Right now all we're doing is spot grading and some gravel mix to some of the affected areas just to make the conditions passable," Borchard said.

That short term solution is all that can be done until the conditions get drier, Borchard said.

Until those drainage issues improve, he's warning drivers everywhere to be watchful of uneven spots in the road.

"Be careful. Slow it down. And we'll get out there and treat these roads the way they should be," Borchard said.
