BAY CITY, MI (WNEM) -

It's safe to say Jan Rau loves St. Patrick's Day.

"No, it doesn't always get old because there's always new entries, new people, more people to talk with, you meet different people every year," Rau said.

The Bay City resident immerses herself in the holiday and the parade that attracts thousands to her city every march. Rau and her husband Alan always have a float in the parade.

When the parade steps off on Park Avenue at 2 p.m. It will go straight down Center Avenue to Water Street lasting until around 5 p.m.

An estimated 3,000 people will participate in the parade.

Rau said people love every aspect of the event.

"I would have to be the animals, the horses and stuff, in the parade. Floats, marching bands, I guess there's just a lot of it that people like," Rau said.

No St. Patrick’s Day celebration is complete without bagpipers.

The Midland Highlanders will be marching their way through the flatlands of Mid-Michigan.

Be sure to tune into TV5’s coverage of the 62nd St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Bay City. TV5 will be participating in the parade.
