LAPEER COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

Four teens have been taken into custody, accused of vandalizing and stealing from a church.

Lapeer County Sheriff Deputies were called to the Country Christian Church, located at 5677 N. Lapeer Road in North Branch, after the break-in was discovered on March 19.

Deputies say the suspects threw a rock through a window to get inside. Once there, they did extensive damage to several office doors, and stole audio equipment and candy and pop for an upcoming Easter event.

Deputy Troy Covert was able to identify the four juvenile suspects, all in their early teens, quickly, and the stolen items were found.

The case has been turned over to the prosecutor’s office.
