ROGERS CITY, Mich. (AP) -

A spring storm dumped more snow than forecast on parts of Michigan's northern Lower Peninsula, with reports up to 18 inches.

The National Weather Service says the storm brought several rounds of snow starting Wednesday night and wrapping up early Friday.

The weather service received reports of 18 inches in Cheboygan County and 17 inches in the Presque Isle County community of Rogers City. The weather service says totals ranged from 6 to 12 inches elsewhere in the northern Lower Peninsula.

Up to about a foot had been forecast.

In Midland and Bay counties, 5 to 7 inches fell. Snow, ice and wind knocked out power to hundreds.

Freezing rain covered communities including Greenville with ice. In the Detroit area, which saw heavy rains, there was some street flooding.
