BAY COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

Reba Vance is talking pink. If a proposed state law is passed, hunters like her would have the choice of wearing pink or orange in the woods for safety.

"It's definitely going to stand out against trees and everything just like blaze does," Vance said.

Proponents of the bill say that deer have a harder time seeing pink rather than orange, increasing a hunter's chances of bagging that buck.

"I would say as long as it's safe, I would think it would be fine," Vance said.

A similar piece of legislation has already become law in Wisconsin.

Vance works at Frank's Great Outdoors and said she thinks hunters pink would be a hit in Michigan.

"It might bring more people to the sport," Vance said. "I mean women are the new hunters everywhere they're the fastest growing population of hunters. And maybe it will bring more teenagers and kids into it too."
