PINCONNING, MI (WNEM) -

Police are warning residents of counterfeit money in one Mid-Michigan community.

The phony cash has been discovered at two separate businesses in Pinconning. They have been in $100 and $5 nominations, according to the Pinconning Police Department.

Police would like to remind consumers to compare any suspected counterfeit money to regular money.

If you receive counterfeit money you should not give it back to the person, police said.

Instead, you should make note of the person’s description and contact police. You should also place the bill in an envelope or other casing, police said.

If you have any information about counterfeit money in Pinconning contact Sgt. Terry Spencer at 989-879-4270.
