A Mid-Michigan TV legend is calling it a career.

Longtime weatherman for WJRT ABC12, John McMurray is retiring after 40 years on air.

McMurray started his career in Flint at WJRT in 1969 and has been a fixture in living rooms across Mid-Michigan ever since.

On Friday, he gave his last morning forecast and offered a little advice as he walked out the door.

“Remember as you progress in your career, the people that you pass or meet are going to be the same ones that you'll meet again as you come down. So be nice to everybody,” McMurray said.

All of us here at TV5 want to wish John a happy retirement, thank you for all your service to Mid-Michigan.
