SANILAC COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

Three people were trapped in a vehicle after it rolled over on Sunday.

It happened about 6 p.m. on Shephard Road, just south of Marlette Road, in Sanilac County’s Flynn Township.

Two of the occupants were able to get out of the vehicle before help arrived, according to the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office.

The third occupant, a 60-year-old Marlette man, was removed with help from the Brown City Fire Department.

He is the husband of the driver, a 61-year-old Marlette woman.

Deputies determined the woman was traveling too fast when she entered a private driveway and that caused the 2008 Dodge Caravan to rollover into a ditch.

The couple’s 17-year-old granddaughter was also in the vehicle.

The male passenger was the only one who was injured. He was transported to Marlette Hospital for treatment.
