SAGINAW COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

Saginaw Valley State University President Don Bachand and U.S. Rep. John Moolenaar were involved in a two-vehicle crash on Wednesday morning.

According to SVSU spokesman J.J. Boehm, Bachand was driving Moolenaar to lunch when they were involved in a crash at Michigan and Tittabawassee roads.

"We are thankful Congressman Moolenaar was wearing his seat belt at the time of the accident," said Ryan Tarrant, Moolenaar's chief of staff.

Both received medical attention following the crash.

Moolenaar received minor injuries and was discharged from the hospital Wednesday evening.
