CARROLLTON TOWNSHIP, MI (WNEM) -

Police and fire are responding to a second train derailment on Wednesday.

This time, a train derailed in Carrollton Township at Carrollton Road and Reserve Street shortly before midnight.

Carrollton Township Police said the train was hauling soybeans. Police said work was done on the tracks, and mud was likely the reason the track became raised, causing the derailment.

The train smashed into a power pole, but there were no injuries.

Carrollton Road was closed due to fallen power lines between Sugar Street and Shattuck Road. At around 5 p.m., Carrollton Road was reopened.
