MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. (AP) -

A young woman convicted of killing a 57-year-old man in suburban Detroit has been given a no-parole sentence after a judge said she had a "total disregard for life."

Bria Blackmon's life sentence was mandatory Wednesday. In February, she and a half-brother were convicted of murder in the death of Michael Freeland of Sterling Heights.

He met Blackmon after placing an ad on Craigslist seeking a woman to have a baby. Police say Freeland was beaten with a 15-pound weight. His credit cards and other personal items were found in Blackmon's home.

The 20-year-old Blackmon told Judge Edward Servitto that she "didn't want it to go this far."

Defense attorney Rebekah Coleman said Blackmon got into a fight with Freeland after he pressured her for sex. The jury disagreed.
