FLINT, MI (WNEM) -

The significant others of several Red Wings players traveled to Flint today, doing their part to help with the water crisis.

They brought cases of water and delivered them to Catholic Charities Center for Hope Thursday afternoon.

"You can donate money; it's totally different than being here. There's definitely a need for it, and if we can do a little to help, it's worth it," said Julie Leshkevich, girlfriend of Justin Abdelkader.

The fiancée of center Darren Helms said the experience was a reality check.

"I have two kids at home, so, to see that they have to wash their children with baby wipes, it's just like, really eye-opening," said Devon Englot.

They said they planned on doing more outreach in the future.
