2 suspects arraigned in connection with sexual assault

FLINT, MI (WNEM) -

Police have arrested two suspects who allegedly sexually assaulted a woman, and now the suspects have been officially charged.

The victim told police she was sexually assaulted near the Flint River on the north side of the State of Michigan building at 125 E. Union St. in Flint.

It happened about 1:19 a.m. on April 14.

She told police two men approached her and forced her to walk down by the river where they sexually assaulted her, according to the University of Michigan- Flint Department of Public Safety.

After the assault took place, the two suspects fled the scene, police said.

Using video surveillance in the area, Police from the University of Michigan-Flint, and the Flint Police Department were able to identify a pair of suspects. A short time later they were spotted in the downtown area. After a short case, both suspects were taken into custody.

Scott Devontae-Monquez Gill, 20, Flint, and Dontez Martell Howard, 21, Flint were charged and arraigned with two counts of first degree criminal sexual conduct and one count of unarmed robbery.
