FLINT, MI (WNEM) -

Earlier this week Gov. Rick Snyder pledge to drink Flint water for 30 days.

On Friday he announced a business trip to Europe where he will put his pledge on hold.

As for the people of Flint, the water routine is getting old.

"We're all miserable trying to live off bottled water," said Margaret Davis, Flint resident.

Five days after he made the pledge to drink Flint water, Snyder is putting a cork in it.

"I think it was cocky," said Rachel Harris, Flint resident.

Snyder will be in Europe for a trade mission for one week. Nobody can blame him for trying to improve the state's trade relationships and push for more businesses to invest and bring jobs to the state, but some Flint residents think this is another broken promise.

"I don't believe in anything he's saying. I think he's really trying to wiggle his way out of the mess he's created," Davis said.

TV5 took the tough questions to the governor's spokesperson.

"The governor has been very committed to the recovery and Lt. Gov. Calley is there two or three days at least. We have Michigan State Police with the Emergency Operations on the ground there. All the distribution sites are in place, but the governor is just going to be gone for a week," said Anna Heaton, spokesperson for Snyder.
