FLINT, MI (WNEM) -

Two brothers were convicted of murder for a 2014 slaying in Flint.

Keonte Sadler, 29, of Flint, and his brother Marquel Sadler, 25, of Flint Township, were convicted Friday afternoon by a jury.

They were convicted of second degree murder for the May 30, 2014 incident that took Gregory Hodo's life.

Hodo, 36, of Saginaw, was shot to death in the parking lot of the Shop-n-Go Mini Mart on W. Pierson Road in Flint, the Genesee County prosecutor's office said.

The 25-year-old turned himself in three months after the incident, but the older brother fled to Arizona. He was located by federal marshals and arrested in January 2015.

They were also convicted of being a felon in possession of a firearm and felony firearm.

Their sentencing date has been scheduled for May 31.
