SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -

Police are investigating after a woman was found dead inside a car Saturday evening.

The body was found in the trunk of the vehicle at Monroe St. and N. Bond St. on Saginaw's west side.

Police have identified the victim as Amber Morris, 30 and ruled her death as suspicious.

Amber Morris' family held a vigil on May 2 to remember her life and deliver a message to the community. That message was to stop the violence in Saginaw.

Her sisters are looking for answers.

"I don't know. I'm confused. I'm lost," Holly Morris said.

Holly Morris and Lareshia Rutledge, the victim's sisters and closest confidantes, said they are devastated by her death.

As the sun set the community rallied around them holding signs, begging for justice and lighting candles to remember the life lost too soon.

"This is crazy. My sister, in no way, shape or form, deserved anything that happened to her," Rutledge said.

To make matters worse, the sisters said Amber has a 14-year-old son who will now have to move on without his mom.

"My nephew is lost. My nephew doesn't have a mom anymore. Someone took her from us," Holly Morris said.

The community is searching for answers to bring some closure to the family rocked by the tragedy.

"I just want to know why and how somebody could do this to her," Holly Morris said.

A GoFundMe account has been set up to help cover funeral expenses.
