LAPEER COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

Sheriff’s Deputies are investigating a possible abduction attempt of a 10-year-old child.

It happened Sunday at around 1:30 p.m. on Lawndale Road in Lapeer County’s Deerfield Township.

Investigators say a red mid-sized pick-up truck with a black hood and rust on the passenger side wheel well approached the girl as she was walking her dog.

The driver apparently asked the girl if she wanted a free kid’s meal.

Investigators report that she said no, and kept walking.

The driver reportedly turned around in a drive and went back into a subdivision.

The suspect is described as a man in his 40’s of average height and weight. He had facial hair and a blue baseball cap.

If you have any information, call the Lapeer County Sheriff’s Department at (810) 664-1801.
