FLINT, MI (WNEM) -

Gov. Rick Snyder wants President Barack Obama to drink Flint water during his visit on Wednesday.

"We are hopeful the president will drink the water in Flint, to help reinforce Gov. Snyder's actions and the EPA's message that filtered Flint water is safe to drink," Snyder spokeswoman Anna Heaton is quoted saying in the Huffington Post.

Snyder made a pledge himself to drink Flint water for 30 days.

Heaton said the governor's office did not proactively issue a statement calling for Obama to drink Flint water.

The Huffington Post quoted the White House press secretary saying he is not aware of any photo ops involving Obama drinking the water.
