$5,000 reward offered for information leading to arrests of 2 robbery suspects

DAVISON TOWNSHIP, MI (WNEM) -

It seemed like a run of the mill break-in and robbery at a local gun store last month.

But it turns out, not all of the criminals involved are behind bars and a lot of guns are floating around Mid-Michigan streets.

Federal investigators are on the case and offering thousands in rewards for any information.

"Obviously not very happy and very concerned about firearms being on the street," said Tim Wright, owner of Williams Gun Sight company.

Wright's gun store is a popular store in that area. It was robbed last month.

At the time a press release issued by Davison Township police indicated authorities were looking for three suspects involved with taking several firearms.

According to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, seven suspects were involved and 23 handguns are still out in the community. Which results in a far bigger crime than what was previously reported.

"We provided them with information of what we think was stolen and it's been in their hands since then," Wright said.

Some wonder why it took so long for the public to be informed about the extent of the crime.

A spokesperson from the ATF said the original report came from Davison Township and it took the time from the robbery until now to piece together all the information and make it public.

As it stands, one adult suspect and one juvenile remain on the run.

Meanwhile, Wright is hoping his stolen weapons are off the street soon.

"My main concern is to get the firearms off the street. That's the most important thing," Wright said.

The ATF has announced a $5,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of two suspects on the loose.
