ROSCOMMON COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

Investigators say a man threatened family members with a machete before taking off, forcing a school into lockdown.

It happened Friday morning near Roscommon High School.

Sheriff’s Deputies say the 21-year-old man threatened his family, and then took off on his bicycle in the direction of the school.

Because it was unclear if the man was still armed, and what his intention was, schools went into lockdown until deputies found the bleeding and very agitated man in a wooded area near the high school.

Once the man was taken into custody the lockdown was lifted.

The man’s name has not been released.
