CLARE COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

It’s going to be easier to find some deep fried squealers in Michigan.

Cops & Doughnuts have announced they’re opening two additional bakeries in the state.

On May 15, the “McDonald’s Precinct” will open its doors in Ludington.

Then in late June the “Sutherland Precinct” will begin serving up donuts in Bay City.

“Just like Clare, our nine cop-owners are on a mission to save historic bakeries around Michigan and even beyond,” said President Greg “Ryno” Rynearson.

McDonalds Bakery in Ludington has been run by the McDonald family since 1898.  Sutherland’s Bakery in Bay City also dates back to the late 1800’s.

There are also plans in the works to have franchise locations open across the country.

The bakery began in 2009 when several Clare City Police Department officers pooled their money to save they city’s only doughnut store from going out of business.
