LANSING, MI (AP) -

Deer management, invasive species control and a fatal bat disease are among topics on the agenda for a Michigan Natural Resources Commission meeting in Lansing.

The meeting is scheduled for Thursday at the Michigan State University Diagnostic Center.

The policy committee that deals with wildlife and fisheries will receive updates on the state's deer management plan, deer hunter retention and the problem of white-nose syndrome in bats. Another report will focus on the double-crested cormorant, a bird that some anglers say eats too many fish.

After a public comment period, the commission is scheduled to set fall turkey hunting regulations and license quotas. Also expected are new measures for preventing the spread of chronic wasting disease.
