SAGINAW COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

A woman is dead after investigators say she lost control of her SUV, crossed the center line, and was hit by a UPS semi-truck.

It happened about 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday on M-52 between Niblock and Gary in the St. Charles area.

Saginaw County Sheriff’s Deputies report that the 30-year-old St. Charles Township woman was driving while a 31-year-old St. Charles Township man sat in the passenger seat. A 5-month-old infant was in the back.

Investigators say that for unknown reasons the woman lost control of the vehicle, causing it to spin 180 degrees into the other lane.

The vehicle was then hit by the semi-truck driven by a 53-year-old Saginaw Township man.

The other passengers in the SUV survived, the semi-truck driver wasn’t hurt.

The crash is still under investigation.
