Inmate released for appointment fails to return, on the run

IOSCO COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

An inmate released to go to a medical appointment didn’t show, and failed to return to jail.

Now a reward is being offered to track him down.

Robert Jones, 53, from the Oscoda area, was supposed to go to an appointment in Tawas City.

The Iosco County Sheriff’s Department says he didn’t show up, and didn’t return to jail as directed.

Jones is 5’7” tall, 170 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

He was jailed on an alcohol violation, assault of a police officer and failure to appear in court.

If you know where he is, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800- 422- JAIL.

A $1,000 reward is being offered to track him down.
