GENESEE COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

Former Michigan State basketball star Mateen Cleaves was in court today, or at least in the courthouse.

Cleaves, 38, of Grand Blanc, was scheduled for a probable cause conference in Flint Tuesday morning.

A judge ruled there is enough evidence to go through with a hearing on charges that Cleaves sexually assaulted a 24-year-old Mount Morris woman.

The act allegedly happened in a Mundy Township hotel room on Sept. 14, 2015.

Cleaves is scheduled to be back in court for a preliminary hearing on June 28.

Cleaves played in MSU's NCAA championship team in 2000. He also played for four different NBA teams.
