ANN ARBOR, MI (WNEM) -

They came from all over. Dozens of protesters outside Governor Rick Snyder’s Ann Arbor condo. Holding signs, chanting and furiously calling for him to step down.

On the sidewalk they drew outlines of bodies with the words: “why didn’t you save me?”

Adam Murphy is a Flint resident who traveled to Ann Arbor after some residents there opened their homes to residents seeking relief.  “We need clean water to shower in.”

Those Ann Arbor residents, neighbors of Governor Snyder, and organizers of today’s rally say they feel guilty.

“We think Ann Arbor should take special responsibility because we’ve been hosting one of the worst people in the history of our state. We ought to at least try to compensate for that,” said Jan BenDor, one of the protesters.

Murphy says he appreciates the kind gesture, but he says it’s time to be able to shower in his own home again.
