BAY COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

Eight months after a man was killed in a hit-and-run involving a stolen pick-up truck and motorcycle, an arrest has been made.

On Sept. 17, 2015 Calvin Laforest was riding his motorcycle on S. Euclid Avenue in Bay County’s Frankenlust Township when Michigan State Police said a truck turned off Stark Road and failed to yield, hitting Laforest. He died at the scene.

The driver of the truck ran off, leaving his truck behind. After investigating, officials found out the truck was stolen.

Eight months and one day after the crash investigators said they arrested Todd Maher, 32, of Bay City, on a variety of felony and misdemeanor charges related to the stolen vehicle and crash that killed Laforest.

Maher was arraigned on May 19. His trial was adjourned until Oct. 11.
