BAY COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

A woman arrested after allegedly waving a knife in the air on school property.

It happened May 19 at around 7 a.m. at Bangor Lincoln Elementary School in Bay County’s Bangor Township.

Deputies were called for someone trespassing on school property and waving around knife.

They report that a woman, 19, lives near the school and was sitting on a bench outside the building using the school’s WIFI signal.

The building’s principal asked her to leave, and that’s when she allegedly was seen waving the knife around.

By the time deputies arrived, they said there was no knife seen.

She was given a trespassing warning and taken to the hospital for mental observation. The hospital reportedly declined though, due to possible violent behavior.

The woman was then charged with having a concealed weapon and possessing one in a weapon free zone.
