FRANKENMUTH, MI (WNEM) -

Alcohol and speed may have been factors in a crash that caused a vehicle to burst into flames, according to police.

Frankemuth officers were called to Tuscola Road at Maple Road in Frankenmuth Township at 2:30 a.m.

Investigators believe that the vehicle failed to make the curve, left the road and hit a tree, and then started on fire.

A 24-year-old Frankenmuth man and a 21-year-old Frankenmuth Township man were both able to get out of the vehicle while it was on fire.

Both were taken to the hospital, but are expected to survive.
