Man arrested after allegedly throwing drugs out of vehicle while fleeing from police

CLARE COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

A man was arrested after allegedly throwing drugs out of the window of a car while fleeing from police.

It happened on May 22 about 3:30 p.m. on Stockwell in Clare County's Hayes Township.

Dominic Obregon, 28, of Harrison was driving a 1995 Chevrolet Camaro when police attempted to stop him for littering, police said.

Obregon fled from police and threw drugs out of the vehicle's window, police said. He then pulled into his driveway.

He was arrested and charged with possession of meth - second offense, controlled substance use, fleeing and eluding police, and operating while intoxicated - second offense.

Police believe the drugs that were thrown from the vehicle is meth.

The suspect is currently on probation and remains lodged in the Clare County Jail. His bond was set at $200,000.
