BAY CITY, MI (WNEM) -

A man accused of masturbating in a store parking lot will be charged with indecent exposure.

Nicholas A. Hockey, 28, from Bridgeport, accepted a plea deal during a court appearance on Friday.

On Tuesday, May 3, officers were called to the Kroger located at 2910 Center Road in Bay County's Hampton Township for reports of a man asking women for directions. Police were told the man was driving a green Chevy Malibu.

The officer found a vehicle matching the description leaving a parking lot and followed it. When the officer approached the vehicle he found Nicholas Hockey.

Hockey initially told the officer he was not asking for directions at the Kroger but then later admitted he was.

Later the officer received complaints of the same man found masturbating in his car at the Meijer parking lot located at 595 N. Pine Road.

Meijer staff told police a female customer was getting out of her vehicle when a green car pulled up beside her and the driver asked for directions.

The woman told staff she looked up the directions on her phone and when she approached the car to show the driver she found he was masturbating.

Once police were able to contact the victim and verify her complaint they arrested Hockey.

He could face up to one year in jail.
