SAGINAW TOWNSHIP, MI (WNEM) -

It is officially pothole season.

"Every year there seems to be more than there was the year before," said Emily Deibel, Mid-Michigan resident.

That seems to be true near Bay Road in Saginaw Township.

"Every morning when I come to work I usually have to drive around it. I can get there if no cars are turning left or right. I just hope they repair it and fix our roads," said Brian Gnatkowski, mechanic.

Gnatkowski fixes care for a living. He warns drivers to be careful because a pothole can really mess up their car.

"They could blow their tires out, bend their rims, take the alignment out of the vehicle - just by hitting potholes," Gnatkowski said.

MDOT crews said if you see a pothole it's always a good idea to report it.

Deibel said she always teaches her kids to avoid potholes.

"I'm teaching my 16-year-old to drive. So if I'm driving in the car with my kid, my advice is slow down before you hit it or try to drive around it," Deibel said.
