Mid-Michigan community plays host to Public Safety

Posted: Updated:

Police, fire or EMS are there when you need them, especially in one Mid-Michigan community. Next Tuesday, May 31, Hemlock Public Schools host a Public Safety Day.

"It is important to promote a safe and secure environment for our kids," Eric Clayton, the PTO President says in a release. "This event gives students of Hemlock the opportunity to see the positive role our neighborhood public safety agencies play in our community." he adds.

The event is being held at K.C. Ling Elementary from 9 a.m. until noon. The Michigan State Police will have a Humvee and aerial drone on display. And K-9 units from both State Police and the Saginaw County Sheriff's Department will demonstrate tactics.

Richland Township Police, Fire and Rescue; the Saginaw County Sheriff Bomb Squad, Mobile Medical Response and Lifenet helicopter are participating, too.
