LAPEER COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

With warm temperatures hitting our area, police are reminding parents not to leave children alone in a hot vehicle.

Lapeer County Sheriff’s Deputies were called Thursday to reports of a child accidentally locked inside a car. Due to the warm temperatures, a window had to be broken to get the child out safely.

The child was only in the car for about ten minutes, but with temperatures expected to stay in the high 80s, police want to remind parents to take extra precautions with children, elderly and pets.
