SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -

Just days after opening, the Whittier Splash Park in the Frank N. Andersen Park has been shut down because of a leak.

The City of Saginaw announced the temporary closing on Tuesday, May 31.

According to Bruce Caradine, Facilities Administrator, “An underground leak was detected after operating a couple of hours on Saturday, May 28, 2016. The City had to shut down the water park and it will remain closed until needed repairs to the cracked pipe line can be made.”

The city will announce when the leak has been fixed and the splash park is re-opened.
