BAY COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

A few changes are coming to the Bay City Mall.

Several residents thought the mall was in trouble after Sears and Target moved out, but the mall has announced a few changes.

The owners of the Bay City Mall, Lormax Stern Development Company, bought the former Target store.

"This purchase is significant since the building will now be controlled directly by the mall. The property will work directly with prospective retail interests to create more meaningful tenant incentives during all negotiations," said Barbara Behmlander, general manager of the mall.

The mall also announced a new Younkers Home & Furniture store will move into the former Sears building. The store is scheduled to open in fall of 2016.
