Talk about being in the right place at the right time. He was on the clock, but this week his duties included potentially saving a woman's life.

Mic Petre, 22, ended up at a house in Warren Township at the area of M-18 and Curtis Road this week. The Midland County Mosquito Control technician just happened to stop at a random house to look for standing water in spare tires, a mosquito breeding hot spot, when he discovered an 84-year-old woman lying on the ground helpless.

"As I was walking up I noticed that she was laying in the front yard awkwardly with her one leg bent out at a funny angle," Petre said.

She had been lying on the ground since the previous day. She was sunburned and covered in mosquito bites.

Petre immediately called 911 while assuring the woman she was going to be OK. He stayed with her until the paramedics arrived, but he still can't figure out what led him to that spot.

He said he tried to get in touch with the woman to see how she's doing, but she hasn't returned home yet.
