LANSING, MI (AP) -

Governor Rick Snyder has vetoed a Senate bill that would have reduced permit fees for noncommercial residential harbors along Michigan's Great Lakes shoreline.

The Governor says the legislation would not generate enough revenue and, would negatively impact the State's ability to process permits in a timely manner.

Snyder praised the bill's sponsor, Senator Tom Casperson (R) Escanaba.

He says he "looks forward to working with Casperson and the Department of Environmental Quality on more affordable fees for single family harbors.
