Flint residents head to Lansing to demand funding for water crisis

LANSING, MI (WNEM) -

Flint residents and faith leaders are heading to the Lansing Thursday, June 9th to deliver a message to state lawmakers. That message is coming in the form of more than 2,000 letters collected from residents from across the state.

Those letters are demanding that House Speaker Kevin Cotter and other representatives pass the funding necessary to resolve the Flint water crisis. This will be the second batch of letters collected and delivered by the environmental group Clean Water Action in conjunction with Flint Rising, a community organization.

They delivered more than 5,000 letters last month.

The group plans on delivering the letters at the Anderson House office building at 10:30 a.m. followed by a prayer vigil at the Capitol Rotunda at 11:30 a.m.
