Active shooter drill held at Mid-Michigan courthouse

SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -

If you saw a commotion at a Mid-Michigan courthouse Friday don't worry, it was just a drill.

The Saginaw County Courthouse was closed due to an active shooter drill.  It was held to practice what to do if a real situation materializes.

It happened from 8 a.m. until noon and was conducted indoors.

The drill allowed courthouse employees to interact with first responders and practice how to respond in a real active shooter situation.

Saginaw County Undersheriff Phillip Hart said the risk in the Saginaw area is low, but you can never be too careful.
