SAGINAW COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

Two Mid-Michigan schools were put on lockdown as police tried to track down a wanted person.

It started at around 10:30 a.m. with a phone call to 911.

The caller reported seeing the underage man near the Burger King in Chesaning.

As the Saginaw County Sheriff’s Depart and Chesaning responded, the man was spotted in front of Chesaning High School.

Because it was unclear if the man had gone into the school, the Middle and High Schools were put into lockdown.

It was determined he didn’t go into the school, and a perimeter was set up.

Three hours after the initial 911 call, another caller spotted the man near Layton Corners in Maple Grove Township.

Detectives were then able to get the man and another family member on the phone and he surrendered.

He was a juvenile on adult Saginaw County Circuit Court probation and had previously cut his tether.  He had warrants for his arrest for probation violation.

At last check he was in the Saginaw County Jail.
