GENESEE COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

The body of a man believed to have gone missing while trying to retrieve a boat has been pulled from the water, police said.

Search crews were in the area of 4392 N. Irish Road in Genesee County’s Richfield Township.

Police said they got a call at 9:42 p.m. on June 12 saying 20-year-old Allyn Taylor of Lapeer had gone missing. Taylor was an employee at Outdoor Adventures. Investigators believe Taylor went missing after he going into the water to try and retrieve a paddle boat that had gone adrift.

Crews searched the water late into Sunday night but found nothing. That search was temporarily suspended and resumed early this morning.

Taylor's body was pulled from the lake around 11 a.m. Monday. Police said his body was recovered from about 12 feet of water. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Foul play is not suspected, police said.
