A Mid-Michigan man facing a mountain of health issues said his home is falling apart as he tried to keep up with his medical bills.

He fears he'll have to face another cold winter with only duct tape keeping the chill out.

"It's important. It's very important. I need to keep warm during the winter," Johnny Harris said.

He said he needs gutters, new windows and doors before it's too late.

"I try to get the work did before the winter sets in, before it gets too cold," Harris said.

Harris said he's on a fixed income. He lives with his son and he said they are both diabetic and have severe health issues that prevent them from coming up with money to make the repairs.

"My son, he sick and I am too. So we go to the doctor every day, almost every day. And we don't have all the money to do all that," Harris said.

Harris said due to medical issues the bills keep stacking up and the doors, gutters and windows just keep getting worse.

For now he uses duct tape for seals around the windows and doors. He said the back door doesn't have a lock, which makes him feel unsafe. Since the gutters are missing, he said the paint is chipping and water is getting in places it shouldn't.

"You can see it up there. It's rotten holes up there and it's all rotten," Harris said.

Harris reached out to the TV5 Rescue Squad. He said if someone were to help him he wouldn't be able to thank them enough.

"If someone could help me out, that's be great. But I don't have anyone to help me, but I'd appreciate anybody that would help me," Harris said.
