MIDLAND COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

The Happy Diners Activity & Dining Center, located at the Memorial Presbyterian Church in Midland is closing, announces the Senior Services organization.

In addition, the Greendale and Mills locations in Midland County will reduce their days of service from 5 days to 3, with the closing and decreased hours going into effect by September 30.

According to Senior Services, nationwide trends indicate a decline in senior center participation and Midland County is no exception.

The agency says these cuts were made to allow the other 5 centers to continue, and not duplicate services within the City of Midland.

The consolidation also decreases overall operating costs.

Those who regularly attend Happy Diners are welcomed to the Trailside Center, 4700 Dublin Avenue, which is four miles away.

Meals on Wheels services will not be affected by these schedule changes.
