Owner of partially collapsed building being fined daily

SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -

The owner of a partially collapsed building is being fined daily by the city for not addressing the problem.

The 142-year-old Brewer Arcade is located at 126 N. Washington in downtown Saginaw. A sign was posted on the front door of the three-story building on May 24, a week after a rear wall collapsed.

Chief Inspector John Stemple told TV5 there are at least 3 or 4 violations against the owner, and each violation has its own fine.

At least one of the violations is costing the owner $200 a day if not addressed, Stemple said.
