PORTLAND, MI (AP) -

Residents are set to mark the one-year anniversary of an EF-1 tornado that caused more than $3 million in damage to the city of Portland.

The Lansing State Journal reports that residents will gather Wednesday night for a Celebrate Portland service at an intersection where several churches struck by the tornado are located.

Officials say about 132 buildings were damaged by the tornado, causing an estimated $3.3 million in property damage. No injuries were reported.

Lt. Governor Brian Calley and representatives of the city, businesses and faith communities will speak at the event. After the gathering, some businesses and churches will be open to residents who would like to view improvements made at the facilities since the tornado.

The local Goodwill store, which was destroyed by the tornado, will also reopen June 25.
