MT. PLEASANT, MI (WNEM) -

An Ohio man is behind bars at the Isabella County jail after pulling a gun during an incident at a Mt. Pleasant apartment complex.

Officials with the Mt. Pleasant police department says 30-year-old Jared Thrush was visiting friends at the Park Place apartments in Mt. Pleasant around 1:40 a.m. Tuesday, June 21.

An argument ensued between one of Thrush's friends and another man. The man left and later returned with some friends.

Police say that Thrush reached into his car and removed a pistol, loaded it and pointed it the men waving it back and forth. He then got in his car and drove away.

Officers responding to the scene noticed Thrush's car driving at a high rate of speed. They pulled him over and noticed signs of intoxication. Thrush told officers he had a loaded pistol in the car. Officers confiscated the weapon and took him into custody.

Thrush was arraigned today on several charges including assault and battery, carrying a concealed weapon,  assault with a dangerous weapon and Operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

Thrush remains in the Isabella County Jail on a $30,000  bond.
